Afua Asantewaa Aduonum of Ghana has successfully concluded her sing-a-thon endeavor, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon.

The achievement was realized around 7 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, with a total duration of 126 hours and 52 minutes.

Earlier, there were conflicting reports about the anticipated conclusion time, with some team members suggesting a Friday end, while others proposed a Saturday closure on December 31, 2023. The former option proved accurate.

By 9:10 am on Thursday, December 28, 2023, Afua Asantewaa surpassed the 105-hour mark, which stood in the Guinness World Records for the longest individual singing marathon, previously set by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare in March 2012. Afua initiated her record-breaking attempt at midnight on December 24, and it concluded on December 29, 2023.

Throughout the sing-a-thon, held at the Akwaaba village, Afua exclusively performed Ghanaian songs, drawing support from various Ghanaians, including A-list musicians and politicians. The online audience, comprising numerous Ghanaian social media users, played a pivotal role in supporting her during the entire process.

Expressing gratitude, Afua Asantewaa thanked Ghanaians for their unwavering support following the completion of her Sing-A-Thon.
