According to Oheneba, Chairman Wontumi’s close associate, John Kumah was allegedly poisoned through grilled Guinea Fowl. Oheneba recounted that during a campaign rally in Tamale, both Chairman Wontumi and John Kumah were served grilled guinea fowls to eat.
After consuming the meat, they all fell mysteriously ill, with Chairman Wontumi experiencing persistent vomiting throughout the night. To mitigate the situation, Dr. Bawumia’s personal doctor was urgently called to administer first aid.
Despite the initial treatment, John Kumah declined further medical attention, believing he was fine. Unlike Chairman Wontumi, who continued with regular health check-ups, Kumah’s decision not to seek further treatment may have contributed to his demise, as the poison had reportedly been in his system since November.
It’s suspected that certain influential figures within the NPP orchestrated the poisoning incident. Captain Smart had also reportedly voiced similar suspicions prior to Kumah’s passing.
