Ghanaian broadcast journalist Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, known for advocating women’s rights, gears up to attempt the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon.
On December 6, 2023, she announced her ambition in a brief video shared on her official Facebook page.
To achieve this feat, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum aims to surpass the existing record of 105 hours set in 2012 by singing over 3,200 Ghanaian songs within 117 hours.
The challenge requires her to perform each song within a two-minute limit, with repetition allowed only after the fourth hour.
Her Sing A-Thon for the Guinness World Record began a short while ago and will continue until Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The event, certified by the Ghana Tourism Authority, will be hosted at the AKWAABA VILLAGE in Airport, Accra.
