Mary shared with an unidentified content creator that the agent who connected her with Kuami Eugene had informed her about the artist’s dislike for individuals of Ewe ethnicity. Consequently, Mary felt compelled to conceal her true identity and assume an Asante persona whenever she was in his presence.
According to Mary, this led to a situation where her mother couldn’t visit her at Kuami Eugene’s residence because the artist might have recognized her Ewe accent when she spoke in Akan.
The revelations surrounding Mary and Kuami Eugene have stirred considerable discussion, particularly after Mary disclosed to a Ghanaian blogger the meager GHC400 salary she received while working for the renowned artist.
Adding to the controversy, Mary mentioned that even after two years, her salary had only increased to a mere GHC600. Due to certain misunderstandings, Kuami Eugene eventually terminated her employment, as per Mary’s account in the interview.
