MTN Group has revealed that Stephen Blewett will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for MTN Ghana starting March 2024, as part of the company’s strategic leadership transition plan.

This decision follows Blewett’s return to MTN in July 2023, where he took on the role of Operations Executive for Markets, overseeing the Group’s operations in smaller West and Central Africa markets and providing vital operational support across the region to the Group’s Senior Vice President for Markets.

Prior to rejoining MTN, Blewett served as the Chief Operating Officer of Digicel. With a rich history at MTN, spanning seven years, he previously held the positions of CEO for MTN Benin and later for MTN Cameroon.

This leadership transition coincides with the appointment of Selorm Adadevoh, the current CEO of MTN Ghana, as the Chief Commercial Officer of MTN Group. The objective is to facilitate a seamless and strategic shift in the company’s leadership structure.

Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of MTN Ghana Board, warmly welcomed Stephen Blewett to the MTN Ghana family, expressing optimism about collaborative efforts to realize the Ambition 2025 strategy and beyond.

The Ambition 2025 strategy is a pivotal initiative for MTN Ghana, centered on transformative goals to establish the company as a leading player in the telecommunications industry.

The appointment of Stephen Blewett and the concurrent role change of Selorm Adadevoh underscore MTN’s commitment to strategic leadership alignment, highlighting the company’s dedication to sustained growth and innovation in the telecommunications sector.
