Afua Asantewaa remains undeterred by the outcome of her Guinness World Record attempt for the longest individual singing marathon. Despite being officially disqualified on February 23, 2024, Afua expressed pride in her achievement as the only female globally to have completed a sing-a-thon attempt.

In a TikTok live session, she emphasized her satisfaction with being the sole female to undertake and complete such a feat. Addressing critics, Afua highlighted the challenges faced by a male contender who was hospitalized after just one day of attempting the record, contrasting it with her own successful completion.

While acknowledging the disappointment of not securing the record, Afua remained resilient, stating that she would not be perturbed by the outcome. She urged detractors to refrain from negativity and emphasized her determination to persevere despite the setback.

Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed the disqualification, noting that Afua’s attempt did not meet the criteria for the longest singing marathon. However, they expressed hope that she would make another attempt in the future and commended her for inspiring her fans with her effort.

Afua’s sing-a-thon lasted five days, totaling 126 hours, surpassing the existing record of 105 hours. Despite not achieving the Guinness World Record, her perseverance and determination serve as an inspiration for future endeavors.
