Ghanaians have expressed disappointment on social media over the Confederation of African Football (CAF) officials for failing to honor the late Christian Atsu at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
Christian Atsu was the Best Player of the 2015 AFCON tournament, receiving the prestigious award for his outstanding performance.
Posts on social media indicate that Ghanaians expected a befitting farewell ceremony for the star who contributed significantly to African football on and off the field.
Christian Atsu was tragically found dead under the wreckage on Saturday, February 18, 2023, days after a 7.9-8 magnitude earthquake devastated northern Syria and Turkey, claiming over 2000 lives.
