The Ghana Football Association and the Black Stars are mourning the sudden death of a teammate who collapsed during an Albanian league match between FK Egnatia and Partizani.
Dwamena reportedly collapsed in the 28th minute of the game, prompting the referee to call a halt to the game and medics to rush to his aid. Despite being taken to the hospital, efforts to revive him were futile.

Dwamena had a history of heart problems, having collapsed during a football game in 2021.
He was diagnosed with a heart condition in 2017, and he underwent surgery to have an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placed during his time at Levante UD, allowing his club to monitor his heart during matches.
