The rape trial against former Barcelona, PSG, Sevilla, and Brazil international Dani Alves began on Monday, February 5th.
Alves is accused of raping a woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 31, 2022.
The prosecution has requested a nine-year prison sentence for Alves, along with a €150,000 ($162,000) compensation payment to the woman who made the accusation.
Alves has been in jail since January 20, 2023.
During the trial, Alves maintained that the sexual encounter was consensual, despite initially denying knowing the woman in a television interview.
The trial is expected to conclude on Wednesday.
