The announcement of Chef Failatu Abdul Razak’s unsuccessful Guinness World Record attempt for the longest cooking marathon has sparked disappointment among Ghanaians. This comes shortly after the disqualification of Afua Asantewaa’s attempt, leading to speculation about possible biases against Ghanaian participants.

In a statement released by respected Ghanaian broadcaster Kafui Dey, who served as the coordinator of the GWR cook-a-thon attempt, the reasons for Chef Faila’s failure were disclosed. According to the statement, Chef Faila violated the rest break rules, which ultimately led to the unsuccessful attempt.

The statement highlighted that despite captivating audiences worldwide, the attempt did not meet the stringent guidelines set by Guinness World Records. The violation of rest break rules was cited as the primary reason for the disqualification.

These repeated disqualifications have raised concerns among Ghanaians about whether they should continue pushing for the prize, prompting discussions about fairness and the challenges faced by Ghanaian participants in such global competitions.
