Two people are fighting for their life at the Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital in Somanya after being shot during a robbery at the Gaso petrol station on Monday.
Four armed guys, including a woman, stormed the fuel station in Ogome, a busy municipality suburb approximately 200 meters from the SP GAS station where a robbery occurred two weeks ago.
According to eyewitnesses, the armed men seized an undisclosed sum of cash from the pump attendants and later took GH28,000 cash from a mobile money vendor outside the gasoline station on their way out.

As they fled the fuel station, the robbers discharged three rounds of ammunition, injuring a pump attendant. In an attempt to scare off locals, the bandits shot multiple bullets, injuring two others in the process.
One of the victims who was brought to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital is claimed to be in serious condition, while the other has been stabilized by the facility’s medical staff.
The other victim, who also suffered gunshot wounds and was brought to the Somanya Poly Clinic, has been treated and released.
This latest robbery, the second in less than two weeks, is raising concerns among Yilo Krobo Municipality residents about their safety and security, as residents believe the local police lack the necessary logistics to conduct effective day and night patrols.
