Anthony Taylor, an English referee, has lost his position as a referee in the prestigious English Premier League.

Anthony Taylor has been demoted from the English Premier League to the English Championship League as a disciplinary action for a controversial penalty he awarded in the weekend game between Wolves and New Castle.

In first-half injury time at Molineux, the referee blew his whistle for a penalty when Fabian Schar was brought down by Hwang Hee-chan in an attempt to clear the ball.

Despite the fact that the VAR took a long time to review the decision, they eventually affirmed the center referee’s decision.

Many football pundits and fans around the world slammed this decision.

PGMOL, the official referee body, has ruled that the penalty awarded to Wolves was erroneous and has consequently demoted Anthony Talyor to the English Championship.

Anothony Talyor, on the other hand, still has some English Premier League responsibilities to fulfill this weekend.

Taylor will be one of the Video Assistant Referees for Sunday’s game between Luton Town and Liverpool.

On Saturday, he will officiate the match between Preston and Coventry in the English Championship.
