I was inspired by my mother – Failatu reveals ahead of her Cook-A-Thon attempt on January first

Young Ghanaian chef Abdul Razak Failatu has taken a bold step to put Ghanaian dishes on the map by attempting the Guinness World Record’s Longest Cooking Marathon.

The event has been scheduled for 1st of January to 5th of January 2024 at the Mordern City Hotel in Tamale.

According to Failatu, seeing a confirmation from GWR to officially attempt for the record was a great feeling she would never forget.

In an interview with blogger Blacc Tbwoy of Lawrence Postings, she revealed that cooking as a whole, is something that was inspired by her mother. Failatu who is currently the biggest cook in Tamale revealed that her mother always encouraged her and gave her the best atmosphere to explore in her field.

Failatu is attempting to break the record which is currently held by Alan Fisher, an Irish chef with 119 hours 57 minutes. Failatu plans on breaking the record with 120 hours but promised Ghanaians that she has a surprise for everyone as well.
