Contemporary Ghanaian gospel music sensation Joyce Blessing has shared her emotional reaction when she first heard her song “Victory”, which was gifted to her by fellow singer Kuami Eugene.
According to her, she cried and hugged the “Angela” singer for about 30 minutes when she went to her studio to listen to the song.
She further revealed that she was overwhelmed by the lyrics of the song and could not hold back her tears because she could relate to the song as it told the story of her personal life.“When I went to his studio and he played the song, I cried because the song touched my heart.

So I hugged him for about 30 minutes. But it wasn’t with bad intentions and I thanked him very much. Because it’s rare that an artist writes a song and gives it to another artist,” she explained.
Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, October 14, 2023, Joyce revealed that Kuami didn’t take anything from her for the song, adding that she only asked for credits when she performed or spoke about the song.
She also revealed that Kuami directed the song’s video. “He Didn’t take anything, including income…. I don’t mean anything. He told me that it comes from his heart and that it is a gift from him to me. He also directed the video we made for the song. I was really impressed and that’s why I hugged him.” she said
